The Role:

A well-established engineering and design consultancy are looking for a professional and personable Receptionist to be the welcoming face of their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with reception or administrative experience who thrives in a front-facing role and enjoys being the go-to person for daily office coordination.

This role is more than just answering phones—it’s about creating a positive first impression, ensuring the smooth running of the office, and providing excellent customer service to both employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, clients, and staff, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.

  • Managing the reception desk, handling calls, emails, and inquiries efficiently.

  • Overseeing meeting room bookings, ensuring availability for key staff and adapting as needed.

  • Supporting office administration, including ordering supplies and keeping communal areas presentable.

  • Assisting with event preparation on social and company away days.

  • Ensuring a high level of professionalism in reception, reflecting the company’s image.

Key Skills:
  • Previous experience in reception, front-of-house, or administrative roles.

  • A friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanour with strong communication skills.

  • Someone who takes initiative and can manage tasks independently.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for basic admin tasks.

  • The ability to prioritise and multitask effectively in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Experience in engineering, construction, or architecture is a plus, but not essential.
